Double Scaling Violations
We discuss the theoretical implications of the scaling properties of F p 2 at small x observed in recent HERA experiments. We show that low Q data display double scaling violations which are adequately described by NL lnQ corrections. Scaling violations due to summations of leading and subleading ln 1 x beyond NLO in lnQ are however disfavoured by the data. Presented at the Workshop DIS 96, Rom...
متن کاملCp Non - Invariance from Scaling Violations
In the framework of a renormalizable quantum field theory and taking the example of neutral kaons, CP violation is shown to be a dynamical consequence of the anomalous scaling of the fields; its connection to the mass splitting is exhibited. It is also shown to be compatible with the normality condition [M, M † ] = 0 for the renormalized mass matrix.
متن کاملFinite-Size Correlation Length and Violations of Finite-Size Scaling
We address the problem of the definition of the finite-volume correlation length. First, we study the large-N limit of the N -vector model, and we show the existence of several constraints on the definition if regularity of the finite-size scaling functions and correct anomalous behaviour above the upper critical dimension are required. Then, we study in detail a model in which the zero mode in...
متن کاملA determination of αs from scaling violations with truncated moments
We describe a determination of the strong coupling αs(MZ) from scaling violations of the nonsinglet DIS structure function, which is based on two novel techniques aimed at controlling and minimizing the theoretical error: a neural network parametrization of BCDMS and NMC data, and QCD evolution by means of truncated Mellin moments.
متن کاملOn the Scaling Violations of Diffractive Structure Functions: Operator Approach
A quantum field theoretic treatment of inclusive deep–inelastic diffractive scattering is given. The process can be described in the general framework of non–forward scattering processes using the light–cone expansion in the generalized Bjorken region. Evolution equations of the diffractive hadronic matrix elements are derived at the level of the twist– 2 contributions and are compared to those...
